ILUMA Size 511 square kilometers Region / District: Kilombero and Ulanga districts, Morogoro Region Iluma is located in Kilombero and Ulanga districts, Morogoro Region in the Eastern part of Tazania. Iluma is part of Selous ecosystem and most importantly part of Kilombero Valley Ramsar Site. The area borders Selous Game Reserve to the East. Most of the district area lies along the Kilombero river valley and part of it in the Rufiji Basin and Selous Game Reserve which extends to the Udzungwa Mountains National Park, covered by Miombo woodlands that rise to about 1700 meters above sea level. The area has 3 permanent river and 15 seasonal rivers which provide high potential for irrigation scheme. The area have significant numbers of elephants, Buffaloes, Puku, Hippopotamus, other spcies found in the area includes sable antelope, warthogs, Bush bucks, Hartebeest, Reed bucks, Lions, Leopards, Hyena, Crocodiles and varieties of birds including migratory water birds and reptiles.
