Liwale - Magingo Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs)



LIWALE - MAGINGO
"Undiscovered Wealth"

Size: 4,515 sq.km  Region / District: Liwale Disctrict, Lindi Region

Magingo WMA is located in Liwale District at latitude 37° E and 38.30” E, longitude 9° S and 10° S in Lindi region.


It’s bordered with Selous Game Reserve in the West and North-west while on the east there is Mitombati village.

Significance
It is composed of open woodland and variety of birds, reptiles, mammals significant wildlife include Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Zebra, Buffaloes, Eland, Hartebeest, Wildebeest, Pangolin, Wild dogs and Greater kudu.
Accessibility
The WMA is served by three nearest airstrips, namely Liwaie, Milembwe, and Kibaoni.
