IKONA - JUHIWAIKO
"An area of abundance for large wild mammals"

Size: 242.3 sq.km  Region / District: Serengeti District, Mara region

Ikona WMA is located in Serengeti District in Mara region. It covers five villages namely Robanda, Nyichoka, Makundusi-Nyakitono,


Park-Nyigoti and Natta-Mbisso. It borders Serenqeti National Park in Robanda village in South and South-east On the South and South-west, the WMA borders the Grumeti Game Reserve. On the East and North-east, it borders with the Ikorongo Game Reserve and on the West, it borders with the Sasakwa consession area. The WMA is also bisected by the Seronera to Mugumu road, which passes through Robanda village.

Significance
The most common large mammals found in the area includes Elephants, Lions, Buffaloes, Giraffe, Hartebeest, Waterbuck, Wildebeest, Warthog, Leopard, Topi, Roan antelope, Lesser and Greater Kudu, Klipspringer, Zebra, Hippopotamus, White and Black Colobus Monkey and Crocodiles.
Accessibility
Fort Ikoma airstrip (about 8 km) and Mugumu (20 Km) are closest airstrips from the WMA. Furthermore, the WMA is about 270 km from Arusha airport

ILUMA Size 511 square kilometers Region / District: Kilombero and Ulanga districts, Morogoro Region Iluma is located in Kilombero and Ulanga districts, Morogoro Region in the Eastern part of Tazania. Iluma is part of Selous ecosystem and most importantly part of Kilombero Valley Ramsar Site. The area borders Selous Game Reserve to the East. KIMBANDA The area is part of the Selous-Niassa Wildlife Corridor. It is rich in miombo woodlands and abundant wildlife reserve. The Selous - Niassa Miombo woodland ecosystem as a whole is the largest trans-boundary natural dry forest ecosystem in Africa covering 150,000 km2 and extends across southern Tanzania into neighbouring Mozambique.
